(NIV) Galatians 3:26-28 "So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Through baptism, Jesus clothes us in our eternal robe
(NIV) Revelation 7:9 "After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. … 14 These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
We, Christians, are this great multitude
Baptism washes our robe and makes it white through the blood of the lamb
Our robes are white
(NIV) Revelation 20:11-15 "Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. … The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire."
Our robes are white
Through baptism, Christian’s names (our names) are in the book of life
Christians are spared at the lake of fire which is the death of the soul
This is what God’s grace brought to us
This is the gift of eternal life
This is from the God that we come to worship today
Please pray for someone in your life who needs to be baptized
