Welcome to the Bellevue Church of Christ Youth Group!

The Youth Group serves the teenagers of the Bellevue Church of Christ and their friends. We offer Bible studies, counseling, service opportunities, and activities that include Teen Things, retreats, and mission trips. Our calendar is full of events! Many of our events occur in the Teen Center, but some are off-site. Be sure to show up and have fun!

What We Do & How You Can Help

Sunday Morning Class: (Weekly) 9:00-10:00am

Sunday morning class is designed to teach teens the Word of God. We do this by Studying a book or character in the New or Old Testament for a quarter. We also take a quarter to teach a topical study.

Sundays: Spirit & Truth-Lynne Harden’s House (5-7:30)

I am really excited about this year’s Spirit & Truth Devotionals on Sunday nights. We start out the night with a meal (Volunteers needed!). Then we have a time of Worship & Devotion to the Lord. After we have worshiped we break off into gender specific groups and learn about how to follow Jesus in our everyday life. Come join us Sunday Nights! For Directions Click Here

Wednesdays: Soul Cafe’- Bluefish TV – Revolution (7-8pm)

Bring a friend to the movies! With Italian Sodas, Popcorn and Cafe’ we watch DVD’s that speak about topics and issues teens are facing today. Perfect to bring a friend to so we can get to know them and they can hear the gospel in a creative way.

Jan 13th: Area Wide (Bellevue Church of Christ) “Called Out”

Area wides are so cool! We meet with youth ministries from all over the pudget sound in one building and do the most awesome crazy stuff ever. Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with other area teens in this area.

Feb 17th: Area Wide (Central Kitsap) “Higher Calling”

Central Kitsap is hosting their Area Wide this year at Vertical World . The only time that CK could rent out the VW was after hours. So the schedule is later in the evening but the following Monday is Presidents day and kids wont have school. If you can drive or chaperon at this event please let Jeb know: 206-251-1447.

March 2nd: Parent Meeting
March 9th: Area Wide (Port Orchard)

The March Teen Area Wide will be held at Port Orchard this Sunday, March 9th from 3:00 until 7:00. We will have activities, fellowship, eats, and worship. The hour long activity is scheduled to be outside in our “Celebrate Jesus” area. Tell your people to dress appropriately for an active outdoor game. We’re praying for adequate weather to pull this off. I sent out info.
there will be no fee for this area wide. Come and have fun. We’ll end with a teen led devo in our auditorium.

March 14-16: Church Enrichment Conference (Lakeview)

April 8-10: Spring Retreat/Ropes Course (Camp Yamhill)

Camp Yamhill ropes Course is one of the most bonding experiences our youth group does. I have asked do team building high and low ropes course. Get ready for a shot of adrenaline as you climb a 50 ft. pole or swing over the river, or go down the 300 yard zip line. For more info on Camp Yamhill click here .

April 13th: Area Wide (Lakeview)

We will be going Put-Put Golfing near Lakeview. The cost is $5. We will leave at 2:00pm and return by 8:00pm.

April 27th: Cascade College Drama Group “Second Story”

At 6:00pm we will be hosting the cascade College drama group called, “Second Story”. They will be performing a one act play called “Common Grounds.” The play talks about the little choices we can make in our lives that have a big impact on the future of our lives. Sure to be a good time…bring a friend.

April 30th: Service Project (Northwest Harvest)

Northwest harvest feeds over 500,000 people a MONTH! We get the privilege of helping them on Wednesday. Meet at the building at 6:30pm. We will work at their Renton Warehouse from 7:30-8:30pm.

May 18th: Area Wide (Federal Way)

Federal Way C of C will be hosting our Area-Wide for the month of May. They are setting us up to go bowling! The cost will be $5. Bring your friends. We will leave the building at 2pm and return by 8:30pm.

June 1st: Senior Sunday

Goodbye seniors. We love you and send you with Godspeed. Sunday AM service we will have our seniors come up front and receive a gift from the church and a blessing from our Elders.

June 1st: Parent Meeting

Please meet in front pew (Before Potluck) for a short parent meeting.

June 1st: VBS Fliers – Prayer Sweat (1:00/4:00pm)

After getting some food at the family pot luck please meet upstairs in teen loft to punch-out fliers to hand out for the day. We will also be giving instructions on where you will be handing out fliers for that day. Parents please be available to drive teens should we need a few vehicles.

Prayer Sweat: At 4pm we will head down to Port Orchard to be involved in a prayer sweat. Bring your own towel. Dress modestly i.e. shorts or bathing suits under: sweats, pants, t-shirts etc. We will return around 8:30pm.

June 8th: Servant/Silent Auction (5:30)

Our annual servant/silent Auction will include: A donation cook-out, valuable things to bid on (silently), Auctioning off teens for (1) 8 hour day. If you are involved in Ecuador please be available to set up for this event at 3:00pm.

June 29th: Ecuador Meeting/Play at the park (1:00/2:00pm)

A reminder that this will be the last meeting before your Essay’s and Memory work are due.

After our meeting I am inviting all teens to play at the Luther Burbank park on Mercer Island. We will have a van leaving the building at 2pm and return to the building at 6pm. Bring your appropriate swimsuits with you (no 2 piece bikinis or Speedos). Also bring any outdoor games you would like to play.

July 2nd: Fun Day – Swimming Chizm Park (12:00-8:00)

Fun Days are every Wednesday at noon lasting until 8:00pm. We will be doing various events like swimming, hiking, kayaking, Volleyball etc. At the end of the day we will BBQ and have a devotional time. Please be prepared to spend around $5 for activities. Today we will be swimming at Chizm Park. Please dress appropriately (Shorts for guys not speedo’s, girls please no two piece Bikini’s and wear swimwear that fully covers the chest area. thanks)

July 6th: Parent Meeting

After morning services please meet in the front pew for a short parent meeting.

July 9th: Fun Day – Volleyball/Swim Idlewood (12:00-8:00)

Idlewood park hosts a small beach and volley ball court on the sand. Please meet at the building at noon to leave for this events. BBQ will be at Idlewood.

July 13th: Last Ecuador Meeting (1:00pm)

Our last Ecuador Meeting before we head down to help the people of South America.

July 16th: Ecuador Packing Party (6-8pm)

We will need to have all the teens who will be going to Ecuador attend the Ecuador packing party. Meet at the church building at 6pm. We will finish at 8pm.

July 17th -28th: Bellevue Family Ecuador Mission Trip

Its a mission trip to Ecuador. Working with the local govt. owned daycare we will have plenty of fix-up work to do while there. We will also be visiting the Children’s Hospital on the cancer floor. Please pray for God to work through us and in us.

August 3rd: Parent Meeting

Please meet in the front pew after sunday morning services for a short (and tall) parent meeting.

August 6th: All-Nighter/Paint Party (12:00pm-7am)

That’s right, it’s all nighter. But thats not all. We will be taking some time to paint the teen center some bright and colorful schemes. Don’t miss this monumental event (especially if your an artist).

August 13th: Fun Day – Paint & Friz at Luther Burbank (12-8)

We will be finishing up painting the teen area should there be more to do. We will also be going to Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island to have an ultimate Frisbee game & BBQ.

August 15th-16th: Schools Out Camp Out.

Bring your tents, propane lanterns and marshellow roasters because we are going camping. If you are able to chaperone this event please let me know ASAP.

August 20th: Fun Day – Hiking (12-8)

You will need a backpack for this adventure. Bring lots of water, sunscreen and comfortable shoes because we will be heading out into the wilderness for a day of hiking. we will probably have lots of snacks to hand out for the trip. Please come prepared to do a gradual hike. We will rest and take it slow so don’t worry about being in-shape. there a couple of Destinations available and we will decide which trails at a later date.

August 27: Fun Day – Canoeing (12-8)

Off 104th there is a canoe rental shop where we will rent canoes and have a fun and relaxing day on the water. Bring lots of Sunscreen!

August 29th-Sept 1st: Faith Quest (Grades 9-12)

A great event for spiritually uplifting your teens before they enter into another year of school. Early Registration is $65 (before July 15. Late Registration: $85 (by August 15). After last August Date you will have to call faith Quest to see if there are spaces available.
